To comment on the most recent review- we went this past Saturday (7/11) and masks, social distancing, and sanitizing procedures were all being used. (Also, if you feel so unsafe when it comes to the coronavirus, maybe out in public isn't the place for you.)Staff was great, drinks were delicious and food was incredible.

Grits perfect. Breakfast special not so special. It was average not knock your socks off. Need improvement. Sat at counter and had great service.

A little pricey but worth every penny!! The food and service were exceptional. We had the crab dip, honey butter chicken, and cedar salmon. Everything was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend.

I died and went to heaven last night the best food I've ever eaten in my adult life the smoked chicken ravioli.

My husband and I visited the Fatted Calf during brunch on a Tuesday. Our waitress was nice. The food was good. My husband received a glass of water with dried egg on the side of it, but the waitress gladly brought him water in a clean glass. We both really liked the bacon! We will visit this place again because there are many things on the menu that we'd like to try.

Always an enjoyable place for excellent farm to table comfort food!

Great food! Wanted to try something new. Had the chicken fried steak. The gravy was some of the best I’ve ever had. And then there is this lemon cream pie- oh my! It has a texture between pie and cake with a custard base that is balanced by the cream and blueberries. Amazing!!

Food was really good, we were there for brunch. Im just taking one star because of the smell of the building, I know this is because is an old building and it smells like it but I think they could do something to try to minimize it. Maybe candles or something at the entrance where is more obvious when you enter.

Efficiently run...both in the kitchen and the dining area! Young wait staff have the place running like a clock!Excellent twists done to standard dishes! Shall return.......soon!

Excellent weekend brunch spot. Guaranteed to be crowded but still has a cozy atmosphere. Staff was friendly and attentive to detail. Bar seating is first available.Highly recommend the Biscuits & Gravy starter and the Chik & Waffle meal.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Rockwall! Delicious food, good wine in large glasses. Consistently good service, and there is usually live music. Servings are huge, everything is very fresh and well prepared. But when the bill arrives, be ready to pay for what you get.

Great Chicken Fried Steak! Loved the casual atmosphere.

Love the food and service here on a regular basis! Having a young son (16 months old) it's always refreshing to have people be so accommodating when we take him out. Whether it's brunch or dinner, Fatted Calf is a can't miss!

Nice atmosphere and service was good. Food: about 1/3 of my chicken fried steak was breading. Taste was decent but breading to meat ratio was way off. The cut corn and mashed potatoes were great. Little pricey.

They offer a nice variety of delicious food. I enjoy dining here. Employees are always very nice, rates are fair and the place is always neat.

Ended up at this place and was glad it happened. They were open on a Monday and it was just our luck. We got in, waitress was so nice and we got our food fast. Everything was DELICIOUS!! Will definitely be returning here.

Nice atmosphere. Classic Texas feel. Nice little bar towards the back of the restaurant. Nice to be here when it is half full or less as the noise level becomes rather high when the restaurant is over half full. I order a $49 22 oz. Austin T-Bone to share with my wife. I hope it is good. Update: the Austin T-Bone was 5 star. The noise level is also 5 stars.

My first time here and it was wonderful! The food was delicious and the staff was really nice and knowledgeable of the menu. Went for dinner and will definitely be making a trip back!

Small place, great food! We started with the blue crab dip and it was amazing! Chicken fried steak and reddish for entrees BOTH were dynamite! The sauce could've been a little spicier with the redfish dish, but that's just my opinion. Killer butterscotch pudding yo!!!!

Great food offered as family meals to go during the CV shelter in place. Chicken & Dumplings and Meatloaf were outstanding. Owner sent me home with *extras. Support these folks, a place worth keeping in business.

We ordered the Easter lunch special of Prime rib with sides and it was delicious. The best flavored prime rib I’ve ever had. Thank you for making our Easter meal so special during this crazy time.

Yummy fried green tomatoes- my favorite. BLT salad with delicious blend cheese dressing. Double barrel margarita- great taste and nice pour. Honey butter chicken was killer..corn cut from the cob! Great biscuit too hubby had french dip and mom loved her Pub burger..1/2 left for tomorrow. Hubby wanted butterscotch pudding but was too full. Next time

Wait staff was nice, food was decent. Was super dead on a Sunday night and the wait at the place down the road was an hour so we came here. As my nephew said “these biscuits taste like the ones at my school”. 3 stars though because gnats we’re all over near where we sat at the back towards the kitchen, and the food is pretty so so considering the high price (80% is over $20).

I had the Chick n Waffle this morning and it was delicious! Gave 4 stars because there were no specialty coffees...yes I'm fancy lol. Needs better coffee as well. It was weak. The bartender, however, was very friendly and accomodating. He was knowledgeable about the menu items and suggested a great meal. Sticky bun was amazing for desert! I can't say the same of the patrons, tho. If it weren't for the bartender, I would've felt extremely unwelcome. Not a very diverse little city...not very nice citizens either. Won't dine alone there again. Maybe I can just order it to go...

Great drinks, great service, great waitress & hostess! I will definitely go back. A very pleasant experience all the way around.

Maybe an off day or meal but I didn't experience the hype. The pub burger was better than any chain burger around no doubt but wasn't notable in any way, the fries were incredibly soggy and bland, no crunch at all. The bloody Mary was fantastic and my wife seemed to enjoy her food. Not sure I'll be back, maybe for a dinner experience.

I ordered French Onion soup which I seen on the menu on Google for this restaurant. The chef and owner Teddy came out and explained to me that if I went on their website I would not see the french onion soup. He explained that it was on Google and he had no control over it, however he was so kind to make me a bowl. It was delicious then when I got my bill he did not even charge me. Everything was wonderful the from the crab dip even the little side salad, it was fresh and flavorful. I would highly recommend this place and I hope Teddy brings back the French Onion soup. If he could put that together in 30 minutes I can’t imagine what it would taste like if he made it like he usually does!! Joshua our server was sweet and wonderful!! So glad he asked about the soup!!

Felt very unsafe as far as the coronavirus-no employee wore masks, no social distancing;,there is a long wait for the food-it took almost 30 min. to get our hamburgers and there were only 3 tables of customers, but the food is excellent-the hamburgers are the best I've ever eaten

Deliciously fresh and a beautiful couple of appetizers. The customer service was great and the restaurant is very clean. Highly recommend the fatted calf to anyone.

Update: came for dinner and lunch recently. Food was great at lunch. Dinner was okay. Had the burger, which was fantastic, and the scallops special which was not. It aS a shame because I love scallops. But at $32 and only 4 scallops served with “crispy prosciutto” that tasted more like overdone bacon and a lack of sides, I was underwhelmed. Service has also not been great the last few times I’ve been in. I've been here a few times now. It's too pricey to frequent for dinner (went once, and it was worth it!). But breakfast/brunch is pretty fairly priced and the food is excellent. Most recently I ordered the spinach, mushroom, and goat cheese omelet. I added tomatoes just because I like them. It was delicious! The fresh fruit it came with was perfect. And the jelly they put out for the toast is always perfection. In the past I've also tried the Monterrey omelet which was great. Their pancakes are fluffy and giant and perfect if you want something sweet.

Great "hole" in the on the downtown square for Rockwall. Breakfast / brunch is fantastic from here. Dinner is also phenomenal too. Definitely recommend going there and giving it a try.

Yesterday was the first time we came to that magnificent restaurant. But It is obviously not the last time. We enjoyed the evening very much with the attentive service, with the first-rate cooking and booze and with the honest cost. We will absolutely go back there in a short time.

The chicken raviolis were outstanding. The burger party was overcooked and very dry. I only ate half of it. The meat patty was too thin and cooked too fast and too much. I did not call it to the waiter's attention. The cheese cake was great.

Had dinner tonight. They have a smaller menu but everything is well done. The blue crab dip is a real standout dish. I got the honey chicken and my friend got the quail. We shared the butterscotch pudding for dessert. It's the little touched that make their dishes pop. The butterscotch had sliced bananas in it. Strange and delicious. Can't wait to eat there again. Prices are comparable to the other restaurants in downtown Rockwall.

Terrible service the wait to get food. Unbelievable

My sister and I came here because we fell in love with the place after our first visit, but this time we came, waited an hour for our food to come out (which was cold) my sisters meal was not good and the lobster was rubbery, my daughters food didn’t even come with half of what was listed on the menu and when I asked the manager to replace their meals him and our waitress started being very nasty to us.. I’m very disappointed in this visit and the service.

Had a very good experience here with my kids. The food arrives quick and the service is just good. Prices are reasonable.

Great friendly service and staff that are very knowledgeable about the menu. We had the honey butter chicken, spinach salad, huevos ranchero and AM burger and they were all very good. Definitely recommend.
